GAYLE GRINSTEAD
GAYLE MARIE KANE GRINSTEAD (Age 93)   It is with great sadness that the family of Gayle Marie Kane Grinstead announces her passing on May 2, 2018 and her service.   She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is deeply missed and affectionately remembered by friends and family. Those who were fortunate enough to have known Gayle remembered her for her commitment to family.   She was a devout Catholic and attended St. John the Beloved, Roman Catholic Church.   Gayle's steadfast strength and compassionate nature steadied her family through life's many storms. She made time to listen to everyone and had a gift of making people feel special.   Gayle's last days were spent by the ocean in North Carolina which she loved.   She was pre-deceased by her husband of 64 years, Eugene A. Grinstead, Vice Admiral, US Navy (Ret.); and her sons, Philip, Andy, Kurt and Mathew.   She is survived by her children, Kathy, Mark, Karen, Robert, Michele, and John; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   All who knew Gayle are welcome to attend the service at Fort Myer Old Post Chapel at 12:45 p.m. on September 12, 2018. It is recommended that attendees arrive 30 minutes early. Reception to follow at Fort Myers Officers Club.
