William Thomas Bakun
age 74 of Englewood, Florida , passed away April 14, 2019. with his family by his side. Bill was born to William and Margaret Bakun on Sept 19, 1944, was raised in Westlake, OH, and attended St. Edward High School. He is survived by his wife, Lynn (ne Schleicher), his daughters Amy McKenna (Rick), and Molly DeCrane, and his sister Nancy Bakun. Cherished grandfather of Kyle, Julia, Emily, Abbey, Jacqui, and Keely. Big brother to Roger (deceased), Peggy (deceased), Randy (deceased), and Nancy. Beloved uncle to many. Bill was a Coast Guard veteran and a retired Avon Lake firefighter/paramedic. As a firefighter, he developed a love for cooking and won several chili cook-offs. After retiring, he attended culinary arts school, to expand his knowledge of cooking, as well as his technique, and was known by family and friends alike for his fantastic meals. Bill also had a one of a kind personality, and possessed the ability to put a smile on anyone's face with his marvelous sense of humor. He also had a tremendous love of music and would always be heard humming and whistling his favorite tunes. No one ever forgot the experience of meeting Bill, and he will be dearly missed. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday June 29, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Bernadette Church in Westlake, OH.
