Viva Norine Wolf McElhany
Viva Norine Wolf McElhany Aug. 13, 1942 - Dec. 24, 2019 Viva was born to Conrad and Pauline Wolf in Portland, her lifelong hometown. She attended Woodstock Elementary and Cleveland HS, graduating in 1960. In 1965 she married Delwin; they had 53 precious years together. Viva worked in various clerical and customer service roles. She started at a credit agency, then bankruptcy court, before taking a break to raise her two daughters. After they began school, she landed a job working in customer service at The Oregonian. Throughout her life she always went the extra mile to serve others. After retiring in 2005, she enjoyed group trips with her church friends and train trips with Delwin. Viva passed away peacefully, with family by her side, after suffering a stroke. Her husband preceded her in death one year earlier. She is survived by her daughters, Morganna Wolf and Alice McElhany; and by her brothers, Don and Henry Wolf. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Hinson Church 1137 S.E. 20th Ave., Portland. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Operation Christmas Child.
