In memory of
Shirley Lucille (Hemmerling) Johnson
Johnson, Shirley Lucille (nee Hemmerling) A sweet smile, gentle spirit, and servant heart are apt descriptions of Shirley Johnson who passed in her sleep into the presence of her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on December 28, 2019. Her 91 years were spent raising a family and teaching in church and public school. A native of Fullerton, she met and married Harold Elwyn Johnson while attending the First Baptist Church. Her husband of 67 years passed away on December 25, 2015 but her brother (Robert Hemmerling) and the Johnson children still live in the area two sons (Chris and Mark) and two daughters (Peggy Young and Linda Nelson). Shirley was also proud to have ten grandchildren and eight great-grandkids, and eagerly awaits the Johnson family reunion in Heaven someday. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Friday, Jan. 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton where Shirley served as a Sunday School teacher and choir member. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the Luis Palau Association, P.O. Box 50, Portland, OR 97207. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary
