Robert W Fischer
1925-2018 Robert "Bob" W. Fischer, born November 5, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Phyllis and Harry Fischer, passed away at age 92 on August 20, 2018 in Santa Clarita, California. Robert was the partner of Bea Jacobs and is survived by his son, Mark Fischer; sister, Barbara Alper; niece, Mindy Alper; granddaughter, Marissa Kohan; daughter-in-law, Jane Fischer; son-in-law, Barry Kohan; first wife, Jackie Wissen; step-children: Missy O'Donnell, Philip and George Marshall; Missy's children: Cody and Emmett Shannon and Chelsea Hillis; Missy's grandchildren: Dylan Shannon, Natalie and Finnegan Hillis; George's children: Adam, Laura and Michael; George's grandchildren: Wyatt and Amalya. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Louise Fischer-Kohan and wife, Gloria Marshall. Bob worked in Sacramento for the State of California personnel department then became the Director of the Personnel Department of Los Angeles County. He was devoted to his family and loved camping with family and the Boy Scouts. Bob was a Little League coach, Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, volunteered in schools teaching children gardening and computer skills. He was active in creating the William O. Douglas Outdoor Classroom and served as a Docent at the Placerita Canyon Nature Center. Bob will be missed by so many. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name to the Placerita Canyon Nature Center or the William O. Douglas Outdoor Classroom would be appreciated. Friends and family can honor Bob at a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Friendly Valley Auditorium, 19345 Avenue of the Oaks, Newhall, California, 91321.
