Robert Dale (Bob) Keeler
KEELER, Robert Dale (Bob) June 24, 1930--August 30, 2019 Bob passed peacefully in the early morning of Friday, August 30, 2019, at the age of 89. Born and raised in Estherville, Iowa, Bob joined the Air Force in 1951, serving as a Navigator in Korea with the 11th Tactical Recon Squadron, and forging lifelong friendships. He enjoyed many reunions with that gang over the years. Upon leaving the Air Force, he attended the University of Texas, Austin, and had a long career as a CPA and CFO. He loved his family, faith, sports and travel. He was a longtime member of The Church of the Transfiguration where he was active in many aspects over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Harold Keeler, brother Charles Keeler, and his beautiful wife of 59 years, Janice Green Keeler. Bob is survived by his son Robert D. Keeler, Jr. (Robb), daughter Amy K. Causey, granddaughter Michelle (Shelly) Causey, his sister Mary and brother-in-law Dennis Young, and nephews Craig, Bryan, and Darren Young, along with their spouses and other great nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 2 p.m., with a reception following at The Church of the Transfiguration, 14115 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, Texas 75254. Burial will be at a future date TBD since he willed his body to UT Southwestern for medical research.
