Richmond Joseph Tourné
Richmond Joseph Tourné‚ was born October 23, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana and passed away peacefully on October 27, 2019 with his family present. World War II found Rich serving in Alaska with the Army band. Since his education was interrupted by his military service, he returned to college and graduated from Southwestern Louisiana Institute in 1949 with a BS degree in electrical engineering. A job in aerospace brought him to Los Angeles where he met his future wife, Marie. Rich valued education and in 1960 earned an MS degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Southern California (USC), and earned an MBA from California State University, Fullerton in 1974. He lived a life of service, sharing his talents as a leader directing choirs at St. Justin Martyr in Anaheim then St. Joseph in Placentia. He was a cantor and sang with community choirs. He was a Boy Scout troop leader, ham radio enthusiast, and a volunteer tax preparer. Rich remained active into his late 80's as a trombonist in several bands, as well as playing tennis regularly. Rich is survived his wife of 65 years and six children, Katherine Jacobs (Drew), Michele Tourné‚, Rich Tourné‚ (Jacqueline), Patrice Olopai (Pasqual), Timothy Tourné‚ and Lisa Yano (Hiroshi). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Placentia on Monday, November 11th at 10:30 am, and interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
