Richard E. "Dick" Fogle
Richard E. 'Dick' Fogle Jan. 9, 1937 - Dec. 26, 2019 Richard "Dick" Fogle died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, of natural causes after a long battle with COPD. He was born Jan. 9, 1937, in Duluth, Minn., to Lloyd Fogle and Marie Edna (Johansen) Fogle. He was raised there until the family relocated to Oregon in 1948 and settled in the Gresham area. His first job was as a truck driver at a Gresham bakery where he met his future wife, Nola Jean Decker and they were married Sept. 1, 1954. They raised their family in the Gresham and then Sandy areas. Dick worked as a truck driver until 1970 and then because of a work injury returned to school at Mt. Hood Community college and received a degree in Air Traffic Control. After his graduation he went to work as a full time Air National Guard member for the 116th until his retirement. Dick and Nola moved to Warrenton, Ore., in 1988. Nola preceded Dick in death Oct. 17, 2006. Dick continued to reside in Warrenton until he moved to Happy Valley Oregon in 2017. Dick's hobbies throughout his life were fishing, camping, hunting, flying small airplanes, dabbling in electronics, fly fishing, tying flies, making fly poles and taking trips in his travel trailer. Dick is survived by two daughters and two sons; Janet Levy (Bo), Judy Riffe (Ron), Gary Fogle (Zila) and Randy Fogle (Rachelle); 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister. A memorial will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at the Clackamas Community College Harmony Campus in the community room. Please sign the online guest book at www.oregonlive.com/obits
