Paul A. D'Olimpio, Quincy Fire Department, retired, age 72, formerly of Arlington and Quincy, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at home, in the comfort of his loving family. Paul was born in Quincy, to the late Paul and Caroline (Leone) D'Olimpio. He was raised in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School. He had lived in Lakewood, Colorado, for fourteen years, previously in Arlington and Quincy. Paul was appointed to the Quincy Fire Department on May 26, 1973, and retired on July 29, 2005, after thirty-two years of service. He served on various apparatus during his career and was assigned to Ladder 5 at the time of his retirement. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. Paul was the love and best friend of Marianne Hawker. Loving father of Heather Hawker and her husband Scott Charter, and Sean Hawker. Amazing grandfather of Dylan and Ryan Charter. Devoted brother of Carol Calabro and her late husband Frank, Q.P.D. retired of Quincy, Elaine D'Olimpio Rinella and her husband Paul, Q.F.D. retired of Quincy, and Maria Kujawa of Michigan. Dear uncle of Frank Calabro, Tina Calabro, Danielle Fernandez, Deanna Flores, DJ Kujawa and Caroline Sharrow. Paul is also survived by his aunt and Godmother, Marie D'Olimpio of Quincy.
