Nina R. DuPree
Dodge City - Nina R. DuPree, 80, died August 30, 2018 at her daughter's home in Wichita. She was born on February 20, 1938 on the family farm near Dodge City, the daughter of Esker and Katherine (Smith) Mayfield. Nina was raised in Dodge City. She graduated from Dodge City High School in 1956. After her graduation, she started nurse's training. On February 10, 1959, she married Rex DuPree. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2004. Together, they raised their four children in Dodge City. Nina worked a variety of jobs, mainly as a caregiver to those needing assistance. Nina enjoyed arts and crafts, geneology, antiques, and gardening. She was an avid reader and liked to watch the KU Jayhawks and the WSU Shockers play basketball. She was a member of Grace Community Church of Dodge City. Nina is survived by two daughters, Christine Seager and husband Bill of Wichita and Tressa DuPree of Wichita; two sons, Rex Bryan DuPree and wife Diane of Alva, Oklahoma and Ronald DuPree and wife Cindy of Capron, Oklahoma; a sister, Sharon Saunders of Dodge City; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren with one more soon to arrive; and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rex, two brothers, Ronald and Raymond Mayfield; and one granddaughter, Gloria Thomas. Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Tuesday September 4, 2018 from noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5-7 PM.
