In memory of
KOSCH, Janet Janet Kosch, age 93, of Spokane, WA, passed on to her eternal home on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Janet was born on June 18, 1925, in York, Nebraska, as the only child of Anton Weaver and Mary Elaine (Tobey) Dullum. She attended country school between Gresham and Shelby and graduated from Gresham High School in 1942. She then attended a business college in Lincoln and later worked at an insurance office before her marriage. Janet was united in marriage to Harold L. Kosch in Shelby on April 22, 1947. They had eleven children and raised their family on their farm north of Shelby. She worked a number of years at the Polk County Assessor's Office in Osceola and also ran for public office in Polk County. The family moved to Spokane, Washington in 1978 where Janet worked at Houston Hearing Aid as a licensed audiologist until 2010 when she retired at the age of 85. Janet was an avid reader and loved to play Bridge, which she learned to play at the age of 80. She had a keen sense of humor, especially later in her life. Janet enjoyed her flower gardens and traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad with her husband in their later years. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997 and later that year her husband passed away. Faith was an extremely important part of her life and for many years participated in Eucharist Adoration. As a devoted wife and mother of 11 children, Janet became well adapted at handling the many life's challenges that came her way. Her strength and faith helped her prepare for her final journey. Janet was preceded in death by her husband and sons Greg, Francis "Franc", Kevin, Bruce and infant son Ronald. She is survived by her daughters Linda (Allen) Kuzelka, Jackie (Tom) Martens, Michelle (Mark) Gable, Lisa (Joe) Kostohryz and daughter-in-law Deb Kosch; sons Chris (Dee) and Brian (Audrey); 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on September 15th in Shelby, Nebraska. Condolences and memories may be shared on her tribute page at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com.
