Iraides Alvarado Guerra
Iraides Alvarado Guerra, 89, of Springfield entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 30, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family and her lord Jesus Christ. She was born February 3rd, 1930 to Mateo and Celia Alvarado in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. She was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother to her eight children. Iraides was a woman of faith, kind hearted and giving. She always enjoyed solving word search puzzles in her spare time as well as spending time with her large and loving family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pablo Guerra Matos and her beloved sister Margarita Cruz. Iraides will forever be missed by her eight children: Edwin, Kenneth, Ivan, Edgar, and Maribel Guerra; Yolanda Sanchez, Cynthia Holguin, and Amarilis Pacheco. She also leaves her siblings: Jose, Eliseo, Teofilo, Luis, Rafael, Edel, Emerita, and Carmen Alvarado; Celia Rivera, and Manuela Mojica-Alvarado. She also will be missed by her twenty-two grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and over 100 nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to the Sampson Chapel of the Acres funeral home located at 21 Tinkham Rd in Springfield on Wednesday, December 4th from 4-7pm for a period of visitation. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, December 5th at 11am at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and because she always took pride in feeding her family and friends, Iraides family has requested that memorial contributions in her memory be made to Open Pantry Community Services of Springfield: P.O. Box 5127, Springfield, MA 01101-5127.
