Sanborn, Esther Mrs. Esther Sanborn (Wiencko), age 92 of Grand Rapids, died peacefully on Tuesday September 3, 2019. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Herbert M. Sanborn, son Herbert A. (Bud) Sanborn, and daughter Linda (Gary) Mathews. Surviving are: her four grandchildren Jennifer (Todd) Langejans, Gretchen (Don) Fletcher, Heather (Tom) Martin, Aaron Sanborn; 11 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Lois Sanborn; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend Sharon. Esther was adored by her family and admired by most that had a relationship with her. She was funny, loving, gentle, strong, unshakeable and deeply rooted in her faith. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday September 9, at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, where her family will receive visitors one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to God's Kitchen or the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
