Dottie Piasecki "Nana" March 3, 1938 ~ August 18, 2018 On August 18, 2018, Dottie Piasecki passed away peacefully at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. Dottie was born and raised in Everett, Washington. She attended Everett High School, continued onto Seattle University, where she met and married her college sweetheart, Donald Piasecki. In 1966 they moved from Seattle to Everett to build their home and raise 4 children. Dottie began her career at the Everett Holiday Inn and then planned and opened the Everett Pacific Hotel. She served on countless boards and commissions throughout Snohomish County. She was named Snohomish County Working Woman of the Year in 1989. Her community contacts with Providence Hospital in Everett resulted in a job offer to become the director of Public Affairs. After much success, Dottie became the Executive Director of the Providence General Foundation. She found great joy and satisfaction in her role as head of the fund-raising entity. Dottie was extremely proud of the events that she was a part of such as Festival of Trees, The Epicurean Affair and the Women's Wellness Luncheon. These events and her fund-raising efforts were instrumental towards the completion of the Pavilion for Women and Children, The Providence Regional Cancer Partnership and the $500 million Cymbaluk Medical Tower. In June 2006 after nearly 20 years with Providence Dottie retired from her position and then continued on as an Executive Consultant until 2013. She remained active in Snohomish County and continued to serve on the Campfire Board. She most recently was honored with the 2017 Campfire Lou Denney Award for her exceptional community service. Dottie was passionate about her home and loved cooking for family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all. Dottie was preceded in death by her loving husband Don, in 2016, and is survived by her 4 children, Tom Piasecki (Tami), Susan Jones (Bob), Lisa Martin (David), Chris Nelson-Orcutt (Dan), 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her sister Barbara Rockett.
