David J. Vilcek MT. BETHEL David J. Vilcek, 63, of Mt. Bethel, PA, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, PA. David was born in Somerville, NJ, on Nov. 6, 1956, a son of the late Joseph and Christine (Miklowcic) Vilcek. He was the husband of HelenBeth (Garofalo) Vilcek. They celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary this past July. David was a real estate broker for Garofalo Real Estate in Easton, PA, and served on the board of directors of Merchants National Bank. Prior to that, David was employed as a contract administrator for General Services Administration, NCR Corp, and NDC Corp. He was a 1974 graduate of Bridgewater East High School, Bridgewater, NJ, and a 1978 graduate of Lafayette College, majoring in English and Spanish. David was a member of the Lafayette Alumni Chorus and a past chairman of the Friends of Skillman Library Council at Lafayette College. He was a past president of the Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society, a member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors Association and was a member of the professional standards committee. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Bangor, where he served as the music director. In addition to his wife, HelenBeth, David is survived by a sister, Janet Vilcek Korn, wife of Doug, of Seminole, FL; brother-in-law, Ronald Harvat of Chesapeake Beach, MD; an aunt, Jennie Koteles of Bridgewater; mother-in-law, Helen Garofalo of Mt. Bethel; nieces, nephew, great-nieces, great-nephew and a great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Harvat. Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA.
