In memory of
(nee Mengel), On Friday, November 16, 2018, Carole Ann Cox (nee Mengel), mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 72 years. She will be forever remembered by her sons, Kevin (Mayra) and Brian (Mindy) and her grandchildren Olivia, Alyssa and Emilia. She will always be missed by her brother Joe (Darlene) and her stepdaughters Kimberly, Carolyn and Denise, as well by their children Dennis, Sophia, Sydney and Rowan. She will remain in the heart of her great partner and friend Fred Moeller who stayed by her side. Carole was born November 12, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph and Antoinette "Toni" (Morrone) Mengel. A 1965 graduate of Valley Forge High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Business from Miami University in Ohio in 1969. In 1969, she married Herbert Deckert with whom she had her two sons. In 1981, Carole had the vision to combine her love of children and child development with her entrepreneurial skills to start Scribes & Scribblers daycare center. From one room and five kids she grew her business to nurture hundreds of children from the ages of 3 months to 14 years of age for over 25 years. Having devoted herself to a successful career, she retired to explore the country and enjoy life with her partner Fred. Throughout her life Carole made many close friends whom she loved dearly. Sharp, inquisitive, funny and sincere her spirit touched the lives of all her family and friends.
