NELSON , Frances Frances Nelson, pianist, wife, mother and grandmother, died Sunday, May 6, 2007. She leaves her husband, Leonard, and her children, Meta Barthol, Mark Lustgarten, Davia and Jessie Nelson, and five grandchildren, Sara and Lora Barthol, Sam and Noah Lustgarten, and Molly June Gordon. Frances came from a family of renowned classical musicians including her father, violinist Saul Sharrow and her brother, bassoonist Leonard Sharrow. Frances taught piano and accompanied many noted Los Angeles musicians. She was a graduate of Hunter College, a devoted reader and a supporter of efforts for peace in the world. There will be a memorial gathering in July.
