NETAWAKA - Lillie B. Jones, 85, Netawaka, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at Holton Community Hospital. As a young woman she taught at the Netawaka Grade School. She was a nurse's aide at Holton and Sabetha hospitals. Lillie was a dental assistant for more than 20 years for Dr. Ansel B. Searles in Holton. She also had worked for NEK-CAP and the Jackson County Economic Development Board. She was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Netawaka, the daughter of James D. and Florence Isabelle Richardson Beamer. She graduated from Netawaka High School in 1936 and attended Highland College. She was a member of the Netawaka United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women at the church. She married Wayne D. Jones on April 13, 1940, in Auburn, Neb. He died April 17, 1980. Survivors are two sons, Jim Jones, Netawaka, and Bill Jones, Holton; two daughters, Dr. Linda Jones McCoy, Pittsburg, and Constance Joann Niquette, Woonsocket, R.I.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law , Imogene Beamer, Holton; and many nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Netawaka Cemetery in Netawaka. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Netawaka United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, Kan. 66436.
