Jerry Dean Beasley, 64, of Lufkin, was born December 5, 1941, in Ponte', Texas, the son of the late Ruby (Worthy) and Roy Beasley. He passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Beasley was a retired security guard for Angelina College, where he had been employed for more than 25 years. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Mr. Beasley was a member of Highway Baptist Church, and had resided in Lufkin most of his life. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Jan Beasley of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Mary Lavender, Doug and Barbara Reed, Larry and Ilene Johnson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Audie Christie, Bettie and Bobby Quinn, Nancy and Glen Horbison, Janie and Rufus Marshall; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be John Lewis, Billy Phillips, Lynn Denman, Delton Smith, Mike Golden and Ty Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Mixon, Therman McCarty and Ray Smith. Services for Mr. Beasley will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 2, 2006, in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lamar Denby and Bro. Elton Musick officiating.
