In memory of
Holly E. (Risley) Johns
Johns , Holly E. (nee Risley), - 61, of Egg Harbor City, it is with profound sadness we announce the passing of a devoted wife and mother, friend to all whose lives she touched, on Sunday, July 18, 2021. She left this earth while sleeping peacefully. Holly lived her life as a wonderful wife to David J. Johns, proud mother of Brooke Thorne (Jake) and Amanda, and loving mom-mom to Brad and Andrew. She was born in Somers Point, NJ and spent most of her life as an Egg Harbor City resident. She had various jobs throughout the years including Lennox, Atlantic City Race Track, Print Art, Renault Winery and The Harbor Diner to name a few. She was world-renowned for her love of "The Stones", being the Yahtzee queen, and as the family photographer/ videographer. She was dedicated to capturing the lives of her loved ones. Holly was the ultimate narrator and keeper of memories. Hearing her voice in the home videos will always be a special comfort to all that loved her. She liked four letter words as much as she cared for her beloved grandson Brad and traveled the world on many vacations. She cherished flowers, especially daisies, and her many candles which she always had a coupon for. She was a master cook in the kitchen. Famous for her sloppy joes, pasta salad, American macaroni, apple pie and fish sticks. And if you didn't like it she had no problem telling you to, "Just eat it!" Her homemade iced tea, waffles, strudel, candy, anything to satisfy her sweet tooth was, "To die for!" All whom loved her dearly will never forget her fun loving, never punctual, hardworking, stay busy, can do everything attitude. She marked her calendar with everyone's birthdays and would never forget an important date. She was looking forward to becoming a great grandmother to Grayson who is expected to be born any day now. Holly's happiness came in the simple things in life. Bare feet in the grass, toes in the sand and the sun on her skin. She loved the beach and everything earthly. Her favorite trees all had a name, even if she just called them a number. Christmas and spring were extra special times to her. And when it came to taking out the trash, David was Holly's man. She is survived by her loving brother and sister, Susan Patten and Glen Risley; mother-in-law, Marie Johns; sisters-in-law, Karen Lucca, Amy Aldridge, Jeanette Johns; and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by many family members who've been waiting to greet her: parents, Edmund and Helen Risley (nee Nehr); siblings, Joan Fetterolf, Lois Duhon, Ronald Risley, Brenda Risley, and Debra Risley-Korte'; her favorite aunt, Martha "Mot" Imperatore; father-in-law, William R. Johns Jr.; brother-in-law Billy Johns; and nephew, Mark W. Patten. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Saturday, July 24th, at Wimberg Funeral Home in Egg Harbor City 9 - 11 am. The service will begin at 11 am. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to PKDcure.org . For condolences or directions, please visit wimbergfuneralhome.com .
