Lonnie Banks Sr was born in Uniontown, AL to John and Sallie Stewart Banks. Early in life he relocated to Birmingham and united with 17th Street AOH Church of God under the leadership of the late Bishop Jasper Roby. There he served as Deacon and Trustee.He retired from A&B Foundry (formerly Birmingham Stove and Range). His wife of 64 years, Lue Deal Banks, preceded him in death. Survivors include son, Lonnie Banks Jr, daughter, Juanita B. Green, 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday, 12-6 pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 18, 11 am, at Poole's Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Uniontown, AL.
