Ardys Elizabeth Braidwood Sept. 10, 1935 - May 25, 2021 Ardys was born in Portland, Ore., the youngest of five children born to Anna and Albert Wardin. She grew up in the Hillsdale area and lived her entire adult life within a few miles radius. She was a graduate of Multnomah Grade School and Lincoln High School and attended Lewis & Clark College. Ardys enjoyed traveling, horseback riding, camping, playing bridge, doing puzzles, playing games, spending time with family, and new experiences. In her early years, she spent her time tending to animals around Fulton Park Dairy which her family owned. In the 1950s a portion of the property was sold to Portland Public Schools and the remaining property was developed into the Hillsdale Shopping Center, which Ardys managed for 54 years. Ardy married John C. Braidwood in 1969. Throughout their marriage they enjoyed travels around the world, to several different countries multiple times. Ardy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brother, Ferd; brother, John; brother-in-law, Paul; and many close friends. Survivors include her children, Chris, Julianne and Matthew; brother, Albert; sister, Doris; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. A private interment in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum was attended by family. A life celebration was held at Casa Colima Restaurant. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Oregon Zoo.
