Steven A. "Stevie" Diorio
Steven A. 'Stevie' Diorio BANGOR Steven A. "Stevie" Diorio, 59, of Bangor, PA passed away Tuesday, June 8th, at his residence, due to complications from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Stevie was born in Easton, PA on August 3, 1961, a son of the late Joseph Diorio, Jr. and the late Carol A. (Leigh) Cuono. He was the husband of Sherry M. (Raisner) Diorio. They celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary last December. Stevie was a 1979 graduate of Bangor High School. After High School, he attended Lyons Technical School in Philadelphia and received his Associate's Degree in Engineering at Northampton Community College. Stevie was last employed at Elegant Lawn Care, Inc. in Nazareth, PA. Prior to that, he was employed, for 36 years, as a project manager for Pfizer and later Mineral Technologies. Stevie enjoyed making homemade pasta, wine, regaling people with his stories, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Roseto, PA. Stevie was a former Bangor midget wrestling coach, a lifetime member of the American Legion Martocci-Capobianco Post 750, and a member of the Baffone Society of Roseto. In addition to his wife, Sherry, Stevie is survived by a son, Sgt. Benjamin Diorio, USMC, a daughter, Madeline Diorio, two brothers, Joseph L. Diorio, husband of Susan, and John Michael Diorio, husband of Tammy, and many nieces and nephews. Stevie was preceded in death by his step-father Thomas Cuono. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday, June 14th and also from 9 AM to 10 AM on Tuesday, June 15th at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 15th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Third and Garibaldi Ave., Roseto, PA. Burial will be held at East Bangor Cemetery, East Bangor, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to I AM ALS, 1200 Pennsylvania Ave., NW #14135, Washington, D.C. 20044, or at iamals.org .
