Joanne Fraser
Fraser, Joanne 4/29/1930 - 6/5/2021 Chelsea In her own words: The party is over, but I had a great time! I was born to Melvin and Gladys Howarth on April 29th, 1930. I joined my sister Barbara Howarth (Yakley) as we made a family. We spent most of our family time in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1948. I attended Michigan State College before it became Michigan State University. That Summer I met Bill 'Red' Fraser and found the love of my life. We were married in 1950. We were blessed with four children; John, Jan (Doug) Bogard (Baptist) Billy, and Becky (Gordie) Morris. Four grandchildren, Katie (Javier) Valle, Erin Baptist, David (Amy) Fraser, and Shannon Fraser. Also 2 great-grandchildren Evan Valle and James Fraser. Bill and I started Frasers Pub in 1963 working side by side. We made many friends for life and have had many good times. We also belonged to the Elks 325 and the JCCS, Ann Arbor Country Club, and Inverness Golf Club. I have enjoyed my bridge club of 64 years, my golf leagues, knitting group, and 'tailgate' lunches. Bill and I celebrated 63 wonderful years before he passed in 2013. My life would never be the same without him. My family and friends have helped me through the years. I have been so blessed and this is my final thought: I'm free. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free; I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your head and share it with me; God wanted me now. He set me free. A celebration of Joanne's life for her family & friends will take place at a later date. Muehlig Funeral Chapel
