In memory of
Lois Rita Delcuze Quigley
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lois Rita Delcuze Quigley at the age of 93. She died peacefully at her daughter's home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Lois was born August 16, 1927 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Violet Agnes Henry and Walter Joseph Delcuze. She was the loving wife of the late Justin Joachim Quigley for 61 years at his death; and the devoted mother of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest, enjoyed entertaining, was always good for a laugh or offering a shoulder on which to cry. She had a passion for cooking, and will be remembered for her creative and tasty dishes. Lois made everyone feel special, and was very special to all of us. Lois graduated from business college, and was an Executive Administrator and member of the Board of Directors for Pension Services, Inc. until she retired at the age of 78. She was a woman of great faith. She loved God, her family, and friends. She was a devoted Catholic, two-time visitor to Medjugorje, and parishioner of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church since 1980. She is survived by her four children: Justin Quigley II (Robbi), Kevin Quigley (Lea), JoAnne Acosta (late Barry), and Gerard Quigley (Darne'); nine beloved grandchildren Zachary, Alexa (Adam), Jason, B.J., Jesse, Jacob, Peyton (Brandie), Cameron, Brennan; two great grandchildren, Ava and Thea; sister-in-law Josie Ruiz (late Tom); brothers-in-law Frances Quigley (late Jean) and Alan M. Quigley (Daryl), as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Lois is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Yvonne Lovecchio (late Frank) and Connie Miestchovich (late Theo); mother and father-in-law Malvin and Marguerite Quigley; brother-in-law Alvin Quigley (late Dee Dee); and sisters-in-law Sister Mary André, O.P. and Roselyn Quigley. The family wishes to thank the Nurses and CNAs of Heart of Hospice for taking such great care of our mother. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time. Inurnment is in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
