Roy Dale "Sarge" Jackson III
Roy Dale Jackson, III "Sarge" Roy Dale Jackson III, known to family as Roy or Dale and to his friends as Sarge, was born in El Paso, Texas on April 5, 1945. He grew up primarily in Pennsylvania, with stints in Argentina, London, and Switzerland, and spent the past 50 years in Marin County and Novato. Roy died at home in Novato on April 30, 2021 after a short battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Gail; son Roy Paul (Nadine); grandsons Timothy, Logan and Miles; siblings Christine Twinn (Clive), Michael Jackson (Martine), and Andrea Ashworth (Mike); and niece Angelin Rosenberry. Predeceased by his beloved daughter, Alia Rose. Roy was most proud of his Marine Corps service, including two tours of duty in Vietnam, where he earned a purple heart and served as an aircraft avionics technician. He loved getting together with other vets to talk about their experiences. He spent many years running his own company, Irrigation Control Service. Roy loved his retirement years, exploring California, traveling with his wife, camping with family, and working on projects at the Marin Rod and Gun Club, where he was on the board of directors. He was an avid fisherman and loved introducing others to the sport. Memorial service to be determined.
