Lamont Major, Jr. of Birmingham, passed away peacefully May 10, 2021. He graduated from Ramsey High School (1958), and proudly from Sewanee (1962). He was the owner and operator of Osce Roberts Inc. for over 30 years. He loved his family, entertaining, travel and especially bbq. He was a longstanding member of Shades Valley Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was preceded in death by his mother Cecile Greene Major, his father Lamont Major, Sr. and his only brother Paul Earle Greene Major, Sr. He is survived by his wife Mary Alice; daughter Sarah Cecile and grandsons Paul and Camp; niece Cecile Major Seth(Raj) children Ryan, Paul and Laura; nephew Paul E. G. Major, Jr. (Jodi) children Erica and Megan. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 21 at the Cathedral Church of the Advent with visitation 1 hour prior to the service in Clingman Commons at the church. (2017 6th Ave. N., Birmingham). Private burial at Oak Hill Cemetery will follow service.
