Monica Lares Diaz Indio - Monica Lares Diaz, of Indio, entered eternal resting on Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 at the age of 56, with her loving family and her fiance Johnny by her side. She was born to Rosario Perez and Nicholas R. Lares on July 09, 1964. After graduating from Indio High School, Monica married her high school sweetheart, Joe "JoJo" Diaz. Together they had 3 children: Carlos, Joseph "Joey" , and Lorena "Nena". Monica was very artistic and loved creating crafts for her family. You would often find her creating seasonal wreaths or baking carrot cakes during the holidays. She was a devoted companion, wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter and granddaughter. She dedicated 35 years of her life to the City of Coachella and its residents while working within the Building Department as their Permit Technician. Her energy and love for life was unmatched. She was preceded in death by her father Nicholas, and her brother David "Chicky". Monica is survived by her mother Rosario "Rosie", her siblings Anthony "Tony" Lares (Lori), Virginia "Jeannie" Lares, Rebecca "Becky" Espinoza (Danny), Rosemarie "Rosie" Gonzalez (Jose), children, Carlos Diaz, (Kristy), Joseph "Joey" Diaz (Aquiles), Lorena "Nena" Sterling (Robert), and seven grandchildren; Carlos, Nickolas, Neveah, Drew, Sadie, Cruz, and Sofie. A funeral service is scheduled for May 20th, 2021. Due to COVID restrictions, viewing and mass are restricted to immediate family only. Please join us for the burial at the Coachella Valley Public Cemetery in Coachella at 1pm.
