Betty Van Fleet Galesburg - Betty Van Fleet, age 94, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 11:25 P.M. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Woodridge Supported Living, Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on March 22, 1927 in Knox County, Illinois the daughter of Ray and Naomi (Olomon) Heck. She married Murland O. VanFleet on October 11, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2001. Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn (Don) Keckler of Franklin, Tennessee and two sons: Richard (Janet) VanFleet of Galesburg, Illinois, Gary VanFleet of Florida; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and one granddaughter. Served as a member of the O.A.K.S. Senior Center and Faith United Methodist Church of Galesburg, Illinois. She was always a full-time mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother. A compassionate caregiver for the elderly. She is loved dearly, her warm heart, generous spirit will be deeply missed by many. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Interment will be at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory, Knoxville, Illinois. have been entrusted with arrangements.
