PATRICIA "PAT" (SMALARZ) WALSH
ELGIN - Patricia "Pat" (Smalarz) Walsh, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2021, at Bickford Senior Living Center of St. Charles. She was born June 3, 1937, in Chicago, to Fred and Helen (Rapala) Smalarz and was a 1955 graduate of Carl Schurz High School. She married Dennis Walsh on May 26, 1962 and is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; children, Jeffrey and Christopher (Amy) Walsh; and grandchildren, Jenna, Jack and Molly. She worked in Accounting for Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for over 25 years. Pat loved her family, Shakespearean plays, opera, and was an avid quilter having won numerous awards for her specialty quilts featuring images from her worldwide travels. Pat took tremendous pride in her gardens and lovingly cultivated a beautiful backyard oasis. She was also a passionate reader who belonged to many social clubs and was an antique collector specializing in collecting corn antiques. Pat was also a great cook with a special affinity for custom recipes and Italian cuisine. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Helen; and her brother, Fred Smalarz, Jr. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. https://www.dupagecremations.com/obituary .
