Chmielewski, Rosemary 8/29/1936 - 5/1/2021 Willis Rosemary Therese (Kolongowski) Chmielewski, age 84, died Saturday, May 1st, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 29, 1936 in Dearborn, Michigan, the daughter of Louis and Rose (Muszynski) Kolongowski. She was the youngest of seven siblings. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings. The daughter of Polish immigrants, Rosemary cherished her heritage and shared that love with her children and grandchildren. Celebrating that heritage by cooking traditional Polish dishes was one of her favorite pastimes. Rosemary was a long time resident of Willis, Michigan, moving into her home in 1963. She was often seen working the election polls, gardening and throwing family parties at her house. In the evening, she was known to settle down with a good book and a bowl of ice cream. After retiring from Automotive Federal Credit Union in 2006, Rosemary traveled often. Taking annual girls trips with her daughters and daughter-in-law. Making memories while spending time with family was how she enjoyed her retirement. Rosemary is survived by her loving children Roseanne (John) Bruckner, Mark (Treasa) Chmielewski, and Amy (Haze Blackburn) Chmielewski. She will also be dearly missed by her five grandchildren, David Nichols, Liz (Jermey Smith) Morgan, Erin Morgan, Katlin (Levi) Moore, and Keriann (Jared) Thacker. Her laugh and warm hugs will be missed by her four great grandchildren, Ayden, Lee, Joanna, and Jude. Per her request cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life for Rosemary, which will be held at her home at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
