(nee Romano), (1916--2021), age 105, peacefully passed away of natural causes on May 2, 2021, surrounded with the love, affection, and prayers of her family and care givers. Beloved wife of the late Paul W. Cassidy, former Mayor of Parma Heights, for 70 years; devoted mother of Maureen E. Foran (Richard), Michael P. Cassidy (Lindsey), Patricia A. Kyle (Charles), and Steven M. Cassidy; cherished grandmother of Patrick C. Foran, Michael T. Foran (Stephanie), Megan E. Foran Brown (Marcus); John J. Cassidy (Allyson), Jillian M. Cassidy Haberny (Lee), Kara Schwabauer (Matt), Margot Tomer (Adie), Alexandra Hector (Nicholas); Daniel P. Kyle (Jessica), Maureen E. Kyle McDougall (Mark), Anne E. Kyle and Bridget A. Kyle; great-grandmother of 18; daughter of the late Gaetano E. and Louise G. (nee Scheidegger) Romano; sister of the late Maria Concetta Romano; family matriarch to more and dear friend to many. Elise was a proud member of "The Greatest Generation," surviving The Great Depression, WWII, and two world pandemics. She spent her life devoted to her husband and caring for her family and community. Elise loved the arts and became an actress part of the original Cain Park theater troupe, pianist, painter, gardener, and culinary artist who often opened her home to others and shared her table with many. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to The Sisters of the Incarnate Word or St. Ignatius High School. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Bosco Church 6480 Pearl Road Parma Hts., Ohio 44130 on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. Please meet at church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.) FRIDAY 3-7 P.M. Masks and social distancing will be required at all gatherings.
