Ronald D. Cole, Sr. Ronald D. Cole, Sr., 72, of Barling, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 in Fort Smith. He was born Sept. 16, 1948 in Van Buren to James and Vera Lea Cole. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War, and had worked for Therma-Tru in Van Buren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Martha Campbell, Alice Lamb and Mickie Smith; and a brother, Jimmy Cole. He is survived by his wife, Linda Cole of the home; a daughter, Brandi Vick and husband Chris of Lavaca; a son, Ron Cole Jr. of Barling; a sister, Donna Dodson of Washington, D.C.; three grandsons, Zach Cole, Chase Cole (Micayla), and Cole Vick; and a great-grandson, Nelson Dean Cole. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
