Ochen, Edward A. Nov 24, 1923 - Apr 30, 2021 Edward A. Ochen, 97, of Venice, Fl, died April 30, 2021. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Antonio and Kazimiera Ochen on November 24, 1923. In 1987, he and his wife, Ann, moved from Grosse Ile, Michigan to Englewood, FL. In 1995, they moved to Venice, FL. A WWII Veteran, Edward served in the US Army Air Corp as a First Lt and B-26 Marauder Pilot. After the war he attended the University of Detroit graduating with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. He worked at Ford Motor Company prior to the war and returned where he was as a Senior Purchasing Specialist retiring after 38 years. He went onto work at for the Chrysler Corporation for 8 years. Ed finally retired in 1992 after serving as a consultant for 3 Tier One Suppliers. While living in Allen Park, MI. Ed was a Parks and Recreation Commissioner / Finance Budget Commissioner. In Venice, FL . Ed served as a Royal Venice, Inc. Director and V.P. (Housing for the poor). Ed also served as an usher from 1946 to 1999. He joined Epiphany Cathedral in 2000 volunteering in many capacities. Ed was a member of The Holy Sepulchre, Order of the Alhambra, Knights of Columbus, 3 rd and 4th Degree, VFW, American Legion, DAV, Military Officers Association of America and the Elks. In 2003, Edward was preceded in death by is loving wife Ann of 56 years. Surviving family includes 3 daughters and sons-in-law, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Farley Funeral Home, Venice, on Tuesday, May 4 th from 4pm – 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Epiphany Cathedral on Wednesday, May 5 th at 11 am with burial to follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. Memorial Donation may be made to The Epiphany Cathedral School in Venice, FL. Farley Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
