Ralph O. (Rob) Boehnke Jr.
Boehnke, Ralph (Rob) O., Jr. 7/30/1943 - 4/21/2021 Ann Arbor, Michigan After a long battle with cancer, Rob died peacefully with his family around him, Wednesday, April 21, 2021. An Ann Arbor native, he was born in Ann Arbor July 30,1943. He lived his whole life in Ann Arbor and graduated from Ann Arbor High. He graduated from Baldwin-Wallace University in Ohio, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and also where he met his future wife, Ibbie. Rob was a swimmer for both Ann Arbor High and B-W. He joined the United States Marine Corps after graduation and spent a tour in Vietnam from 1966 - 1967. He received the Meritorious Mast upon his completion. Rob and Ibbie were married Sept. 3, 1966. After his return from Vietnam, they moved back to Ann Arbor where they raised three children. Rob returned to the family business, an over 100 year old manufacturing business. Rob was active in Laboratory Products Association. He belonged to Ann Arbor Rotary International, Barton Hills Country Club, Barton Hills Village, and his beloved VP Club of Ann Arbor. His big love was his family and friends. He loved golf, his plants, garden, dancing, and laughing. Rob leaves behind his wife, Ibbie; children, Alice (Pete Lyders), Trip (Samantha), and Chris (Erika); and five grandchildren, Lexi Pew, Maddie Pew, Ryan, Cameron and Ella Boehnke. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a private family memorial at Nie Funeral Home, Liberty Rd. on May 20, 2021 at 1 PM.
