In memory of
Patricia Joan Reese
Patricia Joan Reese May 10, 1937 - April 15, 2021 Patricia Joan Reese went to be with our Lord Thursday, April 15, 2021. She passed away peacefully with family by her side. Patricia "Pat, Patti" was born May 10, 1937 in Portland. She attended Grant High School and married Michael D. Reese at the age of 17. They were married for 56 years until his death in November 2010. By the age of 21, she had four children. Taking care of three toddler boys and an infant daughter was more than a full time job as her husband worked long hours building his businesses. She spent many hours taking her boys to hockey practices, tournaments up and down the entire West Coast, including Canada. As well as early morning figure skating for her daughter. Longtime friendships were extremely important to her. Extended family spent many holidays enjoying her hosting of excellent prepared meals for large groups, including the annual Sandy Kiwanis Fly in/Drive in Pancake Breakfast. The annual Easter egg hunts on her property in Sandy were epic. All were welcome at the Reese household, as she loved entertaining and preparing the meals with her husband. She also enjoyed gardening, bowling, the golf channel, listening to audio books, and adventures traveling the world, including scuba diving, riding on a Harley, and camel riding. One memorable adventure was riding in a dune buggy for the first time with her husband in Florence. Mike's go for it attitude resulted in an accident, having her to do a stunt woman like maneuver going over a 100 feet through the windshield into the next dune. She survived, but vowed to never ride with him again. She will most be remembered for her smile, generosity, and love of her family. Every life touched by Patricia was made better by her happy spirit and positive attitude. Paticia is survived by the family she loved, her three children and their spouses, Jeff and Trina Reese, Doug and Debra Reese, Susan and Phil Chizum; and her six grandchildren, Joel, Noelle, Jessica, Dougo, Michael, and Sarah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; and her eldest son, Michael. Patricia started a scholarship fund in the aviation maintenance school at PCC in her husband's memory. Gifts made in her memory may be directed to PCC foundation P.O. Box 19000, Portland, OR 97280 or give online at: pcc.edu/give Please sign the online guest book at www.oregonlive.com/obits
