Carolyn Denney Benfield April 13, 1932 - April 18, 2021 Carolyn Denney Benfield, 89, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021. Born in Catawba County, April 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Uriel "Bud" Denney and Minnie Causby Denney. Carolyn was a retired registered nurse and a member of First Baptist Church of Glen Alpine. Mrs. Benfield is survived by her children, Keith Benfield (Thressia), Susie Benfield, Pete Benfield, and David Benfield, (Brenda); grandchildren, Maureen Wiseley, Emily Keenan, Jessica Bailey, Mark Smith, Jonathan Benfield, Amanda Reynolds, and Brandi Anthony; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Jewel Saulman Toney (Roger). A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, April 23, at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. John Terry officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 557, Glen Alpine, NC 28628. The family would like to express their appreciation to Carolyn's caregivers, Sherri, Betty, Gina, Brandi, and Katelin, and the staff of Carolina Caring.
