In memory of
Henry "Hylon" Fox
Henry "Hylon" Fox August 25, 1938 - April 6, 2021 Henry "Hylon" Fox went home to be with Jesus early Tuesday morning, April 6, 2021. He was born Aug. 25, 1938, to the late William Austin Fox and Hettie Bell Harris Fox. He attended Oak Hill School. He was a member of Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church and served many years on the board. He was also a member of the Men's Sunday school class and loved overseeing the upkeep of the church building. He was a building contractor and a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved fishing and playing horseshoes with the church. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, or to give to those in need. Anyone who sat down with him for a few minutes learned about Jesus. His infectious smile will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife, Betty Crawford Fox; three daughters, Karen Smith (Keith), Terry Snead and Lisa McIntosh (Chip); five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and sons, Thomas Austin Fox and Wilbur Lee Henson. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 24, at 12 p.m., at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church, 3850 Playmore Beach Rd. in Lenoir. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m., and we are asking everyone to wear their masks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carolina Caring Palliative and Hospice Care, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658. Sossoman Funeral Home www.sossomanfh.com
