Dean F. Kishpaugh
Dean F. Kishpaugh, 97, of Wauseon, and formerly of Sand Creek, Mich., peacefully passed away under hospice care at home with his family by his side Saturday, April 10, 2021. Dean was born in Jasper, Mich., on April 2, 1924, to the late Kenneth J. Kishpaugh Sr. and Hazel (Thielan) Kishpaugh. He married Janet Marie Davenport, and she preceded him in death in 1987. On Dec. 1, 1990, he married Joyce (Henricks) Eicher, who survives, and together they spent 30 loving years together. After graduating high school, Dean entered the U.S Army and served as a sergeant during World War II from 1945-46, during which he received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. Dean was a lifelong farmer and also worked for 25 years for Kewaunee Manufacturing in Adrian, Mich., along with driving school bus for Sand Creek Community Schools. Dean is also survived by his children, Deanna (James E.) Miller, Daniel Kishpaugh, and Jon (Mikelyn) Kishpaugh; step-children, Jerry (Brenda) Eicher, Randi (John) Linehan, and Sue (Jim) Haley; sisters, Barbara Howdyshell and Lois Bennett; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, LeRoy, Kenneth Jr. and George Kishpaugh; and sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Eris Munk. A funeral service honoring Dean's life will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Haven Heights Baptist Church, 1373 N. Ottokee St., Wauseon, with Pastor Lance Wyse officiating. Private interment will be at Lyons Cemetery. Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021, at the church. Barnes Funeral Chapel in Delta is entrusted with arrangements. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending the visitation and service are asked to follow CDC guidelines by wearing a facial mask and observing six-foot distancing when possible. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Haven Heights Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice in Dean's memory.
