Ted Clemens, Jr. M.D. Oklahoma City - Ted was born August 1, 1927 in Oklahoma City, the only child of Theodore R. and Afra K. Clemens. He attended Edgemere Grade School, Harding Jr. High School and graduated from Classen High School in the extraordinary Class of 1945. He received a B.S. from the University of Oklahoma in 1949 and a Doctor of Medicine in 1952. He interned at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals (1952-1953) and had a residency of Internal Medicine at OU Medical Center and a Fellowship in Hematology at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD from 1955-1957. He was the Chief of Residency in Internal Medicine at OU Medical Center from 1957-1958. He was a member of AOA honorary medical society, Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and other Medical Societies appropriate to his Specialty. He was Professor Emeritus of Internal Medicine at OU College of Medicine. He received the Dean's Award at the Evening of Excellence in 2005 and was named Physician of the Year in private practice by the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Alumni Association in 2007. He practiced Internal Medicine /Hematology and Oncology from 1959 until his retirement in 1993. He was President of the Medical/Dental Staff of Presbyterian Hospital from 1975-1983 and its Medical Director from 1975-1993. He and Jen Anne McLain were married in 1955 and their children are Ted Clemens, III and Teresa Anne Clemens. Their only grandchild is Ted Clemens, IV. As a "cradle" Episcopalian, he loved his family, his Schnauzers and relished a martini or two(up). His family would like to thank Mercy Hospice, in particular Cindy and Lynn, for the professional and loving care they gave to their father. Visitation will be from 12-8 pm, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. Services will be at All Souls' Episcopal Church on Friday April 23, 2021 at 3 PM with burial in the family plot at Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to All Souls' Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73116 or the charity of your choice.
