ELLICOTTVILLE - Thomas R. Mercer, 55, of Ellicottville, passed away Thursday (April 8, 2021) at his home. He was born on March 13, 1966, in Salamanca, son of the late Roger and Patricia Loveless Mercer. Tom had worked at the former DJ's Diner in Ellicottville for many years, before working at the Salamanca Antiques Mall, where he was currently employed. Tom was seen all around Ellicottville, whether walking or riding his bike, and will be missed by many. He was a member of the Holy Name of Mary RC Church in Ellicottville. He enjoyed his hobbies of playing cards, collecting model cars and license plates, and he especially enjoyed animals. Mr. Mercer is survived by a sister, Teresa Wagner of Ellicottville; a niece, Calla (Ryan Monroe) Wagner of Little Valley; and many cousins, loving family members and friends. Tom was also very close with and enjoyed his time with his loving aunt, Lucille Harris, who predeceased him on Feb. 22, 2020. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Ellicottville.
