Lavonne Blackwell
Lavonne Blackwell went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2021. She is preceded in death by her father, Chester Marvin Burns; brother, Wayne Burns; and sister, Ann Adams. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 63 years, Joe Blackwell; mother, Betty Burns; children, Lisa Miller (Norman), Jennifer Brewer (Jabe), David Blackwell (Angie), and Greg Blackwell (Holly Ray); seven grand children; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Naomi Russell (James). Lavonne was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved Alabama football, the Braves, and was an avid reader. Lavonne served on the Library board for the City of Adamsville. She worked for the Jefferson County Health Department, where she retired. She was affectionally known as "Hon" to all of her coworkers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest making a memorial donation to either Hope Heals( hopeheals.kindful.com ) or the Adamsville Library. A graveside Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 11am at Elmwood Cemetery.
