Allan Chrone Lifelong Westfield resident and longtime Westfield business owner, 78 Allan Chrone, 78, a life-long Westfield resident and long-time Westfield business owner, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Westfield, Allan was the son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth Chrone. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1960 and attended Rutgers University, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Allan was the long-time owner of the Towne House Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge located at 114 Central Avenue, a well-regarded Westfield staple for good food and drink. He retired from the restaurant business in 1996 after 35 years, but continued to manage his ownership of numerous Westfield properties until his death. Allan will be fondly remembered by his many friends and business associates as the "Mayor of Quimby Street." Allan is survived by his wife, Vivien, with whom he happily spent the last forty-two years. Together they shared many fond memories and a large, loving family. He is survived by four daughters: Karen Cavacini (John) of Margate; Janice Chrone of Mays Landing; Victoria Giannos (John) of Las Vegas, NV; and Lynda Jannicelli of Ogdensburg. He is also survived by three sons: Jeffrey Chrone of Mountainside; William Jannicelli (Desiree) of Fairfield; and Michael Jannicelli of Las Vegas. He also leaves behind a beloved brother, Eugene (Carolyn) of Frisco, TX; and a devoted sister, Judith Battiloro of Garwood. Allan is also survived many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandson. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield, Avenue, Westfield, NJ 07090 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at The Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity, 315 First Street, Westfield, NJ 07090. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1100 E. Broad Street, Westfield, NJ 07090.
