John met Georgia in the parking lot of the Sahara Hotel one afternoon and asked her if she would like to have a drink with him. They met at 7-11 for a Dr. Pepper and then went to see the "Star Wars" movie. John stopped smoking and drinking and in his own works, "it was one of the easiest things I ever did,". He loved her so much he wanted to make her happy and it ended up making them both very happy and healthy. They traveled together and love to fly kites on the beaches in California. John and Georgia were married on July 5, 1976 in the Little Chapel of the West. He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on May 16, 1977.
