Elvida M. Beebe PALMER TOWNSHIP Elvida M. Beebe, 94, of Palmer Township, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Born on January 31, 1927, in Asbury, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Elizabeth (Piperata) Sodano. On September 11, 1948, Elvida married Leonard W. Beebe, Sr.; with whom she shared a wonderful 61 years of marriage until his passing in 2010. Elvida graduated from St. Philip & St. James Parochial High School in 1947. She worked for the Tirrell Silk Mill as a machine operator until 1950 when she left the company. Upon departure she dedicated all of her time to raising her four well-loved children where she was passionately involved in all their activities as they matured. Elvida was a long-time member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg where she was married, and a proud member of the Church Over 50's Club for many years. Elvida and her husband lived in rural Effort, PA for several years, where her grandchildren still recall many fond memories. After leaving Effort, Elvida and her husband finally settled in Palmer Township where she became an active member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church in Easton, PA. She is survived by her children; Elizabeth Tuholsky (and Ronald Tuholsky), of Plano, TX, Carmen Beebe, of Bangor, PA, and Alfred Beebe (and Mona Beebe) of Saylorsburg, PA, and her grandchildren; Alexander, Brandon, Madison, Mercedes Christopher, Jennifer, and Kasey and her 7 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Elvida was predeceased by her son, Leonard W. Beebe, Jr., in 2000 and her brother, Alfred Sodano. A Viewing is scheduled for Friday, April 9, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. There is then a Mass of Christian Burial set for 10 a.m. the following day, Saturday, April 10, 2021, at St. Philip & St. James Church, 430 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ.
