In memory of
Ilio COLETTA
February 3, 1963 - March 26, 2021 It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the passing of Ilio Coletta on March 26, 2021 at age 58. Loving son to Clanta Coletta (Simone) and late father Renato Coletta. He leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara; stepdaughter Wanda; children Olivia and Vincenzo; six siblings (Lina, Paolo, Enzo, Angela, Sandra and Gabriella) brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. He was a caring and loving zio to many nieces and nephews and will also be greatly missed by extended family and friends. During his lifetime he was able to create two successful businesses (I.C. Auto Collision and Taste of Elio's Catering). His true passion was cooking, and his catering company specialized in barbecue and exotic meats. He was adventurous and fearless while living life to the fullest. He travelled yearly to different places around the world where he stayed with the local people as he was fascinated to learn about different cultures. During his travels he would cook for the local people and make time to attend international cooking schools to learn new cooking techniques to bring back home. He was involved with catering volunteer functions including Hamilton's Children's Aid, Rotary Club, City Kids and Knights of Columbus. He also catered fundraisers for Christianson Syndrome families, McMaster Cancer Clinic, Hamilton Good Sheppard and battered women's shelter with all proceeds and profit donated to the events. He was happiest during family gatherings while cooking and telling his stories. He was known to strike up conversations with everyone. Ilio was hardworking, giving, compassionate and kind-hearted. His spirit, enthusiasm and energy were infectious and affected all who were fortunate enough to have known him. A funeral service with cremation was held in Indonesia on April 1st. Due to COVID-19 a celebration of life will be held at a later date. We know Ilio would have loved for family and friends to raise a glass of their favourite drink in his memory. We will treasure the time we shared with him and will miss him immensely.
