FLORA MAY GONZALES MABASA November 30, 1932 ˜ March 15, 2021 Flora May Gonzales Mabasa, age 88, was called by our Lord Monday, March 15, 2021, in Vancouver, WA. She was born Nov. 30, 1932, in the town of New Washington, in the province of Aklan, Philippines, to the late Leandro R. Gonzales and Paciencia Andrade Gonzales. She was a beloved sister to Zenaida, Abraham, Leandro Jr., Hector, and Alberto. She was married to the late Edwardo Mabasa and is survived by her son, Edward G. Mabasa. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from the Capiz Emmanuel School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Philippine Women’s University. She became a Registered Nurse in California in 1965. She eventually moved to the San Francisco VA Hospital as an ER nurse and retired after 30+ years of service. She relished taking her son to numerous music rehearsals, enjoyed the company of her relatives, and took great joy in caring for her nieces and nephews.
