Jacqueline M. Schoettle
Jacqueline M. Schoettle, 83, was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Webster, Massachusetts, and passed on Jan. 1, 2021, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was a dedicated mother, Grandmom, sister and friend. Jackie grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from nursing school in 1957, becoming a psychiatric nurse. She is survived by her two children, Michael and Lisa. In 1968, she married her soulmate, Harry, who passed in 1996. She is also predeceased by their daughter, Jennifer Lynn. Jennifer had Down syndrome, and Harry and Jackie worked every waking hour assisting her to reach her full potential. Jackie was a Girl Scouts leader for many years and helped develop the Clymer Library in Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania. She also enjoyed playing tennis and life at Lake Naomi. In 1984, Harry and Jackie bought a house in Fort Lauderdale, where Jackie lived full time after Harry's passing. She started a garden program at the Little School House and became an active member of the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club, working on youth camperships for Camp Wekiva, flower shows and as librarian at the garden center. She volunteered more than 2,000 hours at Broward Health. Jackie was an active member of St. Sebastian Church, singing in the choir for more than 30 years. Jackie is also survived by her granddaughters, Vanessa and Casey, and sisters, Suzanne and Patricia. A mass for close friends and family will be held at St. Sebastian Church April 8 at 10 a.m. It can be streamed on the church's Facebook page. Jackie will be interred at Pocono Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Little School House in Fort Lauderdale in Jackie's memory would be greatly appreciated.
