"Dave", 91, of Scottsdale, AZ (formerly of Cleveland, OH), died March 23, 2021 of vascular dementia. He is survived by his second wife, Betty Orr Albrecht; daughters Katherine, Beth, Cindy, and Sandy; Betty's daughter Kindra; their spouses; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Carlton and Katherine Albrecht; his first wife, Margaret ("Margie") Saalfield Albrecht; and his brother Richard Albrecht. Dave grew up in Massillon, OH. He attended Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, OH and The Lawrenceville School in NJ. He graduated from Yale University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, with minors in Economics and Psychology. He married Margie in 1951 and went to work for Standard Oil of Ohio (SOHIO). He worked in the Economics, Sales/Manufacturing, and Development groups at SOHIO over 13 years. While working at SOHIO, he received his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. In 1965, he purchased Madison Equipment Company (now known as Madison Electric Products), where he remained CEO until 1988 when he retired. He married Betty in 1984. Dave enjoyed tennis, outdoor adventures, and was an ardent skier in his younger years, and he became an avid golfer in retirement. He always had passions for travel, engaging with people, and spending time with his family. He and his family enjoyed entertaining foreign travelers in their home through programs such as the American Field Service and the Cleveland Council on World Affairs. He formerly served on the boards of Cleveland Speech and Hearing Center, Planned Parenthood in Cleveland, and American Heart Association in Cleveland. He also served for many years as an usher at Christ Episcopal Church in Shaker Heights, OH and at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Chagrin Falls, OH. Dave was a former member of the Cleveland Skating Club, where he served on the board, and The Country Club of Pepper Pike, OH. At the time of his death, he was a member of Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, AZ. There will be a Celebration of Life in Scottsdale, AZ later this year.
