In memory of
George Vosinakis
George Vosinakis Worked for many years at Old Bridge Pizza, loving grandfather George Vosinakis, 87, of Old Bridge passed away peacefully on March 28, 2021 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ surrounded by his family. He was "the best" husband, father, pappou, brother, uncle and friend. George was humble and kind; the son of the late Vasilios and Androniki Vosinakis, George was born April 27th 1934. He was raised in Agios Nikolaos Gytheio, Greece in the Vosinianika region with his brothers and sisters during the German and Italian occupations during World War II. George married his beloved wife Koula Aspiotis in 1963 in Athens, Greece. In 1965, in search of a better life, George left his wife and newborn baby in Greece and immigrated to Brooklyn. In 1966 he was able to reunite with his wife and daughter where they settled in Perth Amboy. He became a dedicated parishioner at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church for 56 Years. In 1979 they moved to Old Bridge where they still reside. George, a self-educated man, worked tirelessly in all fields and across many industries supporting his family but always had a passion for the restaurant business and is best-known for his many years at Old Bridge Pizza. George was an avid gardener. His garden and yard were a sight to be seen with a collection of vegetables and fruits ranging from Fig trees to Vlita. George lived for his family and he will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Koula, his children Nikie Sourlis, and her husband George, Bill Vosinakis, and his wife Sara and his grandchildren Eleni, Kyra, Teddy, George and Christian. George is predeceased by his parents Vasilios and Androniki, his beloved brothers Alexander and Peter, and his sisters Ero Savorgiannakis and Ismini Rogakos. He led his life with "Greek Philotimo". To honor him, in his memory; do a caring act today! Visitation will be Thursday April 1st, 2021 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Wisteria Street and Sadowski Parkway in Perth Amboy between 10am - 12pm. Followed by a Liturgy. Burial services will follow Liturgy at Alpine Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy. In lieu of flowers, Donations in loving memory of George Vosinakis to St. Demetrios In Perth Amboy or to Kimisis Tis Theotokou in Holmdel would be greatly appreciated.
